Important Instructions for EZ SPA Water Care:

  1. Before Adding Chemicals: Whenever you add chemicals to the water, make sure to turn ON the spa jets to circulate the water.
  2. Daily Circulation and Filtration: For the best results, circulate and filter the water for at least 8 hours each day.
  3. Starting with Fresh Water: When converting to EZ SPA, always begin with fresh water by draining and refilling the spa. Ensure the filter is clean.
  4. Avoid Water Softeners: Hard water is preferred, so avoid using water softeners.
  5. EZ SPA START™ – Removing Impurities: Add EZ SPA START™ to eliminate metals, phosphates, and carbonates from the water.
  6. Balancing Spa Water: Use the following EZ SPA products to balance the water:
    • EZ SPA UP™ and EZ SPA DOWN™ to adjust total alkalinity and pH.
    • EZ SPA CAL™ to adjust calcium hardness.
  7. Maintain the following levels:
    • Total Alkalinity: 80-120 ppm
    • pH: 7.2-7.6
    • Calcium Hardness: 300-400 ppm
  8. Regular Water Testing: EZ SPA helps manage water balance, but it’s recommended to test the water monthly (always test before adding EZ SPA).
  9. Allow Circulation Time After Adding Chemicals: After adding chemicals, wait at least 30 minutes for the water to circulate before testing again.
  10. EZ SPA BOOST™ – Startup and Maintenance:
    • For startup, add 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) of EZ SPA BOOST™ per 100 gallons of water.
    • For weekly maintenance, add 1/8 ounce per 100 gallons (slightly more for heavy bather use) to maintain sanitizer levels.
  11. EZ SPA – Initial and Weekly Addition:
    • For the initial dose, add 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) of EZ SPA per 100 gallons of water.
    • For weekly maintenance, continue adding 1 ounce per 100 gallons.
    • If your spa uses ozone or mineral purifiers, add only 1/2 ounce per 100 gallons.
    • Note that pH might slightly drop after adding EZ SPA, but the buffers will usually adjust and raise pH levels within 24-48 hours.
  12. Cartridge Filter Maintenance:
    • After 12 hours, perform a pressure rinse of the cartridge filter.
    • Repeat this process once-a-week to maintain high water quality.
    • No need to chemically clean or soak the cartridge when using EZ SPA.
